THE POWER PROJECT
INNOVATING FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE
Hybrid Waste-to-Energy and PV Solar Power Project:
Our flagship project combines waste-to-energy and solar power generation technologies, making optimal use of resources for energy production.
Kwamoka Energy is currently in the process of developing around 10MW bio-energy and 4 MW solar power plant.
Project Site: No 002 Nana Kwadwo Fordjour Street
Oti light Industrial area, Kumasi
Digital Address: AK-862-7427
Kwamoka Energy has secured 14.17 acres of land at the Oti light industrial area near Sokoban Wood Village in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. This site is strategically located close to the Sokoban wood village that will deliver the bulk of the wood-waste raw material supply.
The project is envisaged to be developed in two phases.
The first phase is the development of around 6MW waste to energy and 4MW solar. Subsequently the waste to energy power generation will be increased to 10 MW. using wood and agricultural waste on land strategically situated at Oti-Light Industrial Area which is about 2km away from the Sokoban.
Sokoban wood village produces over 150 tonnes of wood waste per day. This excludes that of larger wood processing companies in the vicinity. The power plant will be using wood and agricultural residues .
The Electricity Company of Ghana’s substation is about 2.5 kilometers by road or 400meters aerial from the project site; hence the cost of connection to the national grid will be reduced.
Kwamoka is committed to focus on the environment and sustainability in our operations.
Ghana has huge proven quantities of Biomass that is currently of minimal use. The company is working on exploring the potential of other agricultural waste like, cocoa pod husks, forest residue, rice husk to expand their initial source of fuel supply.
The project is well underway, with land acquisition and a power purchase agreement signed with Electricity Company of Ghana including almost all the relevant permits required to reach financial close.
